10 Things to Remember About Obama As President

1.  Obama is Black, but Black is only a superficial description, the Black Experience is something totally different.  Understand it.

2.  Just because he looks like you, doesn’t mean he is thinking about you.  People are naturally self-serving, first. Make yourself known.  Sell you.

3.  There is a lot more to politics than voting for the President.  Participate.

I was in some political training last month when, to my surprise, I was introduced to the term “communities of color.” I remember thinking, “Wow, that’s different…colorful…unique.”

Then, in my online communities, I began to pay attention and I noticed they were talking about POCs…people of color…and WOCs…women of color. And I thought, “Damn, that’s…special.”
